    Posted 8 hours ago

I have the AIX Toolbox configured. But createrepo command is failing with memory allocation error. I want to know why i keep getting below memory error. Do i need to tune any memory parameter?

    root@server:/aix_repository/aix/freeSoftware/aixtoolbox/RPMS>createrepo_c ppc

    Directory walk started

Directory walk done - 6846 packages

    Temporary output repo path: ppc/.repodata/

    Pool started (with 5 workers)

memory alloc (662928 bytes) returned NULL.

Segmentation fault (core dumped) createrepo_c ppc

I would try limiting the number of workers with --workers 1 and also adding --verbose.

Do you need 6800+ packages in your repo?
Lately I have been pushed to patch everything because security is driving now. Guessing you are creating a repos to have a dev/prd promotion setup.
