When we first tested this printing the the enq command didn't have universal execute commands and printing didn't work. We have given that execute commands and prints come out now.

Could we be missing something else in terms of execute permissions? This isn't our server (it is a customers) and we didn't do any of the config, but in /bin many of the files have just root and group execute permissions, but not universal. The user doing the printing would require universal permissions.

    Thanks, Andrew

This doesn't sound like a privilege issue but rather one of correct output to the printer.  In this case it's not getting the correct  end of line/carriage control.

The zebra printers I am familiar with are the ones used in hospitals ot print things like medicine labels.    What is the model of the zebra printer in question? What is the print type you are sending to the printer?

Thanks for your reply. We managed to prove that the issue wasn't caused by our application, and also showed that the issue was reproducible when sending text direct to the printer from the server, but when doing the same from a different server on the network it worked fine. Based on that we sent it back to our customer and requested that they compare server setup and permissions between the server that worked and the one that didn't.

Since then they have somehow managed to fix the issue, but they have not reported back to us what the fix was.

Thanks for your reply though - and sorry I can't be more specific about what the fix was!
