It was quite some time that we are waiting for all the functions to be available for AJS in IBM Navigator for i. With the release of latest 7.4 TR 11 and 7.5 TR 5 IBM has now delivered the all functionality in IBM Navigator for i.
IBM Advanced Job Scheduler(AJS) for i is a job scheduling system designed to allow unattended operations, automate operator functions, and control report distribution. This is the program was made available since IBM i 7.2 as a licensed product but it needed a license that time. However IBM did announced after few years later that it will be a free keyed licensed program product. It does require a license key but again, it is now free. Most of the clients still thinks that it is an additional licensed product but it is not. To get a key, you need to reach out to your business partner or the license key center.
It is a great product so if you are stil using Native Job scheduler or any third party job scheduler i think you should give a try to AJS :-).
Planned availability of these PTF's should be around mid-November 2024 so couple of more weeks until these are really made available in Fix Central.
