Hi Cristian,
From your query, my understanding is that you want to add a VLAN to one (or pair) of the trunk adapter(s) on the VIOS(s). And the trunk adapter is bridged through an SEA on VIOS. By adding the VLAN to trunk adapter, you want to have the traffic from this new VLAN to be bridged through same TrunkAdapter and SEA.
HMC Enhanced GUI provides option to create a new VirtualNetwork ( VLAN-vSwitch combination) and add it to one of the existing NetworkBridge. While adding Virtual Network to NetworkBridge, HMC will provide an option to select the LoadGroup to which the network needs to be added. (LoadGroup is the TrunkAdapter associated with the selected NetworkBridge. )
Below are the steps you need to follow from Enhanced GUI:
1. From the "All Systems" page, click on the ManagedSystem -> Virtual Networks page
2. Click on "Add Virtual Network" and provide a Name and VLAN ID that you want to add
Select "IEEE 802.1Q Tagging" as "Yes" (Since you are trying to add VLAN to already existing trunk adapter, the vlan will be a tagged network)
Select "Bridged Network"
From Advanced Settings, select the VSwitch to be same as the existing TrunkAdapter's VSwitch
3. Click "Next" and select the network bridge to which the virtual network needs to be added. (This is the SEA configured using the TrunkAdapter to which you are trying to add the VLAN).
The NetworkBridge name ends with the corresponding TrunkAdapter's PVID, which will help you to choose the right network bridge form the list.
Select the appropriate NetworkBridge and click "Next"
4. Next page will prompt you to select one of the Load Sharing Groups configured within the NetworkBridge.
Load Sharing Groups are the Trunk adapters associated with the SEA.
It is possible that an SEA can have multiple trunk adapters associated with it, especially in a load balancing scenario.
5. Select the appropriate Load Group (TrunkAdapter) to which you want to add the VLAN.
(The first column in the table lists the PVID of the LoadGroup (TrunkAdapter) which will help you to identify the right Trunk adapter out of the list)
6. Click "Next" to view the summary and then click "Finish" to complete the operation.
In a fail-over enabled NetworkBridge, the above steps would add the VLAN to both trunk adapters across the VIOSs and user need not repeat the steps multiple times for each trunk adapter in a fail-over pair.
