  • 1.  Activate SMB2 in SAMBA 3.6.25.1

    ​Hello Colleagues,

    I would like to ask you if there is any possibility to activate SMB2 within the SAMBA 3.6.25.1 (installed via AIX fileset not rpm) running on AIX 7.1.  I have currently hit the issue of having my client upgrading his WIN servers to WIN Server 2019 and hence SMB1 got completely disabled.

    I would like a workaround to somehow avoid a huge amount of work to install a newer samba software (i see newer samba 4 is only available via .rpm) and reconfigure.

    Hello Alexandru,

    I think
    max protocol = SMB2
    in your smb.conf should work for this
