    Hello Anoop,

When the toolkit starts up,  do you see the screen that allows you to select the workspace  ?

If you do ,  the workspace will have a .metadata directory and under that will a file called .log.

There may be an error in the.log file that will help figure out what the problem is.

If you do not see that screen then have a look under the configuration directory which will be under something like:

    C:\Users\<your user>\AppData\Local\IBM\ACET12-config\12.0.7.0\configuration

There are some logs written there if a configuration error occurs.

Have you tried using a new workspace ?

If could be an issue with the workspace .

    Dear Paul,

    Please find my comments below.

When the toolkit starts up,  do you see the screen that allows you to select the workspace  ?  Ans: Yes.

If you do ,  the workspace will have a .metadata directory and under that will a file called .log.

There may be an error in the.log file that will help figure out what the problem is.   Ans: File is generated. But it doesn't have any information related to the crash of the toolkit, and there are no entries in the log file at the time when the toolkit crashes.

If you do not see that screen then have a look under the configuration directory which will be under something like:

    C:\Users\<your user>\AppData\Local\IBM\ACET12-config\12.0.7.0\configuration

There are some logs written there if a configuration error occurs.   Ans: Like the .log file, there are no logs at the time when the toolkit crashes.

Have you tried using a new workspace ?   Ans: Yes. I tried with new workspace. But  It's crashing.

If could be an issue with the workspace .

    Regards,

    Anoop

    Hi Anoop,

We encountered a similar issue and opened a PMR with IBM to investigate the root cause.

The problem began after we upgraded to Windows version 24H2. Upon further analysis, we discovered that the issue was caused by conflicts with our internal antivirus and Microsoft Defender, which were blocking certain processes in the new Windows version.

To resolve it, we excluded both the IBM ACE installation and workspace directory paths in our antivirus software as well as in Microsoft Defender. After making these exclusions, everything started working as expected.

I recommend trying the same approach on your end. Let me know if it resolves the issue for you.

    Dear Shashank,

Yes. I'm also encountering this issue after upgrading my PC to Windows 11 Enterprise, version 24H2.

According to IBM's documentation, IBM ACE 12 is not officially supported on Windows 11 Enterprise (it's only supported on Windows 11 Pro). I attempted to use ACE version 13, but it crashed as well, similar to ACE 12.

It seems the crashes are related to system-level restrictions or processes being blocked, likely due to antivirus/defender security policies.

I'll try out your suggestion with admin team and update you as soon as I can.

    Thanks And Regards,

    Anoop

    Dear Shashank,

The issue was resolved after adding exclusions in antivirus for IBM ACE installation and workspace directory. Thank you for your support.

    Regards,

    Anoop
