Accessing DCOM services in Linux

  • 1.  Accessing DCOM services in Linux

    Posted Fri April 14, 2006 02:01 PM

    Hi All,

I would like to know whether EntireX would help me out.
My client is a bank, and they are running their application in a mainframe system.
We are providing a delivery channel solution , Telebanking.

Their software has provision to communicate to third party applications. They are achieving this using DCOM.

My product, Telebanking, is running on Linux. I would like to know whether it would be possible to access DCOM services provided by my client, on my Linux system.

We are using RedHat flavour of linux.

    Regards,
    Uday.

    Hi Uday,

I’m not sure if I understand your scenario correctly.
    You say

    but also

Could you please clarify which parts of the software is running on which platform and how they communicate.
DCOM is not available on the mainframe.

They are running DCOM services from windows, i am not sure about the version, which runs in front of the main frame. As of now they are also having clients(UI) in windows, communicating through DCOM.

I want to become a DCOM client, consuming the DCOM services. And i am linux system, Redhat 7.3.

Hope i have given enough inputs.

    Regards,
    Uday.
