    A trading partner sent in an invalid element containing the dollar sign character ($). In the 997 sent back, only the AK5 and AK9 segments were written, and the AK3 and AK4 segments, which present the detailed information regarding the reject, were omitted. However, when the character was removed with a still-invalid element remaining, the AK3 and AK4 segments were written. Is there something about the character itself that's causing this?
