Hello,
I did a oslevel which returns 6.1.0.0
I'm trying to install the updates to AIX 6.1. I have the 6,.1 updates
cd in the drive. I'm root. On the command line at /usr/sys/61updates
I type inutoc . Then I do the bffcreate -c -d /usr/sys/61updates.
Ok so next I smitty update_all which gives me the menu system. I've
reviewed it and execute the update. The X11 window then goes through
about 20 seconds then the message displays,
"No filesets on the media could be used to update the current installed software.
Either the software is already at the same level as on the media, or the media
contains only filesets which are not currently installed."
Can someone tell me what the issue here is? Is there something else I
need to do? I know it's something small or something obvious which
I've overlooked. The .toc exists in /usr/sys/61updates/installp/ppc/
I've tried looking at many different things but still no luck. I want to install all of the updates on the cd.
I also ran the command
smitty update_all and it basically gave me the same message as above.
Or, what is are some other steps to install the 6.1 updates from the CD?
Thanks in advance,
Roger
