Am working with a client that is upgrading from 6.1 to 7.1 and is having a performance issue. New platform is Sun T5220 running 1 CPU with 8 threads. Old environment (not sure of hw model) had 4 cpu’s with 1 thread each.

Has anyone had issues with doing this kind of upgrade or moving from multiple CPU’s to one with multiple threads.

Mate you are giving the cause of the problem in your description itself. Its is but obvious if you are downgrading a 4XCPU to a 1XCPU you will have issues. And please understand a 1XCPU will work in a round robin fashion where the individual threads would be competing with each other for CPU Time.

WM7 works better or rather best in a multi CPU environment.
