4X4 DRIVE PROCESS - TRANSFORMING FINTECH & INSURANCE WITH AI-POWERED AUTOMATION

  • 1.  4X4 DRIVE PROCESS - TRANSFORMING FINTECH & INSURANCE WITH AI-POWERED AUTOMATION

    Posted yesterday

    Hello IBM Community,

I'm excited to share my ongoing project - 4x4Drive Process, a FinTech-focused automation framework built using IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW), ODM, Filenet, and Datacap.

The 4x4Drive Process aims to simplify and accelerate complex business operations, such as motor insurance claims, by integrating multiple third-party systems under a single intelligent automation layer. Our goal is to significantly reduce turnaround times, enhance decision-making, and deliver measurable efficiency improvements across FinTech, Banking, and Insurance sectors.

Currently, we are in the development and MVP stage, targeting a working prototype by mid of 2026, followed by a pilot implementation.

    Problem Statement

Businesses often struggle with delays in Turnaround Time (TAT) for critical processes.

For example, in motor insurance claim processing, multiple third-party dependencies slow down the workflow:

    • Conviction reports
    • Verification of involved parties
    • Vehicle damage assessment
    • Insurance type validation (comprehensive vs. third-party)
    • Complex rules for claim amount validation and standard deductions

These dependencies result in inefficiencies and delays. Our goal is to integrate all necessary systems into a unified platform to minimize turnaround times and accelerate decision-making.

    Our Solution – 4x4Drive

We have designed the 4x4Drive process, a framework that delivers measurable process improvements and increased efficiency.

    Key highlights:

    • Provides process upgrades to replace legacy "AS-IS" solutions.
    • Applicable across industries: Core Banking, FinTech, MedTech, HealthTech, and others that rely on AI, Robotics, and Automation.
    • Built using IBM Process Designer. Currently in Playback 1 stage, enabling us to run, test, and simulate process instances with mock data flows. Our focus is on User interface mockups, coach views, basic task assignments, and navigation.

This is process design (Fig. 1) extracted from Web Based version of IBM Process Designer. I have designed this sample process using Process Designer. This is in Playback 1 stage which means I can run the process, Inject application data to the running process instance, mock the flow from one level to another level.

    IBM Process Portal Advantage

Our solution leverages IBM Process Portal, part of IBM Business Process Manager V8, which enhances collaboration and efficiency for knowledge workers.

    Features include:

    • Real-time collaboration with experts and team members on tasks.
    • Ability to comment, attach documents, and track process instances.
    • One-click subscriptions for process updates and notifications.
    • Activity streams showing task progress, user actions, and discussions.
    • Bookmarking and personalized portal setup.
    • Integration with IBM Connections for improved networking and user profiles.

This creates a transparent, interactive, and efficient process environment for enterprises.

    Sample Demonstration

We have developed a sample 4x4Drive application with:

    • Work item tracking (Process Portal)
    • Exposed process data variables
    • Task modification views
    • Process performance dashboards
    • User interfaces for customer support agents
    • Human services exposed as dashboard services for simulations

    I'm looking to connect with:

    • IBM Partners exploring co-development or integration opportunities.

    • Organizations seeking automation solutions aligned with IBM's Business Automation and AI portfolio.

    • Developers and innovators interested in contributing to or testing the MVP.

If you're passionate about automation, AI, and digital transformation, let's collaborate to bring this vision to life.
