I didn't see a discussion yet for this, but I wanted to make sure I understand all the changes that are involved in this. I had some concerns related to our own processes and wanted to share.
Everything now has a unique line-item ID. That part was made clear in the release What's New section.
On a monthly basis, I have to import a large number of rows that have similar data to existing rows. So, I typically export the plan, copy those rows, change some of the data, then append data.
NOTE:
Append data has been changed to Update data. With the note:
Select this option to update data using Line Item Code. Any new rows will be appended. I did not find any documentation about this particular change. I feel like it should be a warning. With my current process, I now have to remove the line item code, otherwise it will end up overwriting the existing data instead of adding new rows. Not a big deal, as long as you are aware of it. I had to warn my team quickly to watch out for this change before appending any data. I am just wondering if I missed a video or instructions somewhere that talk about this. It wasn't spelled out in the What's New section.
The good news is that this feature helps to update a large number of rows at once. So, I look forward to being able to do that. #ApptioforAll
