On our development Environment we did an over the top install of 11.2.4 on top 11.2.1 and ran into a few issues, that I eventually solved, but COGNOS support seems to be unaware of and trying to determine if it is truly specific to me or if others experience these same issues or someone can explain what my be wrong in our config.
1.) Main issue. In a distributed install the content manager/gateway starts and run successful but no dispatchers (located on separate servers) do. They fail on starting report service with a an error of "
'Report ReportService', 'Response', 'Failure'. RSV-SRV-0040 The report server encountered an internal error. "
- we rebuilt crypto keys
- we checked all settings and that CM was up and running
- we cleared jvm cache and did webex with support where they had us rebuild crypto keys
- Fixed by setting store symmetric key locally to true under cryptographic settings
But I have no idea why that fixes it?
2.) New JVM port range in config.
- Needed to expose firewall rules to allow communication on ports
- JVM ports do no auto close when you stop dispatcher, on next startup you will get a Failed Scanning Ports error
- Must close config, open task manager and manually kill all JVM/node processes
Just curious if anyone else had these issues with 11.2.4 so far?------------------------------
