    Our 2104/DS4 has twelve 300GB disk drives and we what to configure a RAID 5 as two 5+P arrays.

    However we get an error messages that says

    0940-094 The capacity of this array exceeds the 1TB limit

    This restricts us to three 3+P arrays. ;-(

    We have installed the lastest AIX 5.3 ML 4 patches and 5703/11 firmware (05 09007A 12/14/05) and 2104 DS4 firmware (F112).

    Any suggestions on how to work around the 1TB limitation or is this a restriction of AIX 5.3?

    $ ls -l /unix
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root system 21 Jan 20 00:55 /unix -> /usr/lib/boot/unix_64

    so what else could be limiting a RAID5 array on a 64 bit kernel to 1TB?

    Later,
    David

    Also, Simon said you could create a 2TB RAID with the 64-bit kerenl, but I think he was talking about doing a RAID in software with LVM.
