Hello - this is my first post in this group :)

Recently, I found a new role within IBM as Data Scientist. Now, I am planning to pursue Masters (part-time) in the similar field but highly confused what should be the right pick? There are masters available for Data Science, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence.

Previous qualifications: Bachelor's in Computer Science (BCA) and Masters in Business Administration (MBA)

Looking for guidance so that I streamline the subject matter first and then the college/university.

    Hello @Nirmala Gautam
Welcome in this group. This is also my first Reply in this group.
Personally I consider Data Science as technology/tools and not a Science. Therefore I somehow doubt that a time consuming Masters will add value to you. Why not go for a Doctorate while working with IBM?
I consider AI as part of statistics. For doing statistics you need data. For some statistics you depend on Small Data for other statistics on Big Data. Then there are people who consider Big Data as part of Storage. Besides tons of data. It requires visualizations and data driven decision making.
My first IBM manager was from Sweden. He never said much. What I remember is: I am your career manager.
Why not let your IBM career manager guide you.

    Bonjour Tim
I noticed your survey about AI. Can you explain the reasoning for that survey in more detail? What insights do you want to achieve? May I ask if the results of your last few surveys are public?

Hi Nirmala, It depends on what you want to do long term...

Masters of Science in Data Science or Analytics will give you all the tools to be a highly proficient data scientist with focus on machine learning and exposure to a lot of different use cases and other models like optimization, design of experiments, simulations, time series, survival analysis. It is less computer science oriented, more focused on data analysis and machine learning.

A Masters of Science in AI is usually more computer science centric. It is focused on algorithms and it usually has you go through different tracks in Machine Learning, Decision making and robotics, perception and language, and human-AI interaction

I think the programs are different enough. The intersection is ML. But depending on your preferences you would choose one vs the other

The University of Helsinki is currently hosting a free online course about AI.
    https://course.elementsofai.com/
    The course is not technical.
It puts terminology into context and gives in an entertaining way samples about what is what.
I think this is a good place for getting guidance.
As with IBM, credit card details are not required for enrolling.
