    Hi community!

Does anyone here know why IBM brand changed its color to "Regaee theme" (green, yellow, and red) ? I am curious :):)

    Thank you and regards,

Sure , actually the colors are not only reggae symbolic but Black representation. If you have a look at most African flags, they have the "Reggae" colors. IBM temporarily changed from the initial color to recognize the first Black executive employees in IBM. A good example is John Stanley Ford, the first black software engineer who worked at IBM.

The green, yellow and red colors a representation of the black not necessarily reggae. As you will notice most of the African flags consist of the three colors. IBM temporarily changes logo color in recognition of the Blacks who worked and who are still working at IBM. Significant Black figures at IBM in early years whom Dr. Watson employed them, include the legendary John Stanley Ford, first African American Software engineer in America in 1943, the same year Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in baseball.

    Andrew,

Thank you for sharing such an inspirational story!  IBM is one of the most inclusive organizations on the planet and I am proud to call myself an IBMer!  We celebrate everyone and all cultures.  It is our diversity that makes IBM such an incredibly powerful brotherhood and sisterhood of Big Blue hearts!

    Thank you Andrew,

This make sense. i was also told that it refers especially to  George Carter, the former Director of Equal Opportunity and the first black executive at IBM.

IBM was a pioneer in this regard.

    Thank you for the clarifications
