  • 1.  Stacked bar graph for multiple variables

    Posted Thu October 28, 2021 09:25 AM
    Dear community,

I would like to create a bar graph for multiple variables, which are all dichotomous. So the y-axis should be a count and on the x-axis should be 3 variables each being a nominal one with two categories. Therefore 3 bars that are stacked, containing 2 colors. However, I do not seem to be able to drag more than one variable on the x axis when in the graph creator mode.

I am working with the Test trial version of spss for Mac (version 28).

Will be forever grateful for any Tipps!
    Greetings!

    Hi, Lisa.

This is a perfectly reasonable request but unfortunately neither I nor my colleagues can figure out how to do it! One of them did come across this example:

    Clustering Separate Variables (GPL)

which is close but not exactly what you asked for.

I'll put in a request to the graphics team to consider adding the chart type you're looking for.

In the meantime, you might consider using SPSS to calculate the summary statistics you want and then copy those data into XL (or other graphics program).
