Albert Scott Crossfield was a prominent American test pilot who had achieved speed records while flying experimental aircraft. He delivered a compact comical summary of human uniqueness in the form of an interrogative. Boldface has been added to excerpts:
"Where can you find another non-linear servo-mechanism weighing only 150 pounds and having great adaptability, that can be produced so cheaply by completely unskilled labor?" Mr. Crossfield" inquired.
You should note the distinction. AI (Artificial Intelligence) is a Science. AI Computing is a Technology - a set of functional tools, hardware, software, pipelines, services - developed from the knowledge of the AI Science. AI Technologies will come & go, as most technologies eventually mature or obsolete, over generations, though some persist, as other enabling technologies become developed. "Artificial Intelligence" itself will continue to evolve as a science, a body of knowledge drawing from many foundational disciplines.- Osby Nejo
