Drive better research outcomes with Power Analysis

Power analysis plays a pivotal role in study plan, design, and execution. For example, when data is difficult, expensive, or time-consuming to gather, it is vital to know beforehand how many observations will be necessary to have an acceptable probability of detecting the effect you are looking for.

In a recent IBM tech-talk, Rick Marcantonio demonstrated how to take advantage of the new power analysis enhancements with IBM SPSS Statistics to improve research outcomes. He answered 4 questions:

  • What is power analysis?
  • When do researchers use it?
  • What features are available in IBM SPSS Statistics to perform power analysis?

And, most importantly,

  • Why should users care about power analysis?

Rick covered the practical applications of power analysis, and how power analysis helps to address common pitfalls that can occur when planning research. Watch the complete tech talk here: https://event.on24.com/wcc/r/3115239/B5E93F1092ABA0F80C431F3380E392B8
