Hey, DataStage developers and administrators!

We're excited to announce that the IBM DataStage team has been hard at work to deliver DataStage as a Service, the market-leading data integration product you're familiar with - now on the cloud as a SaaS offering.

We invite you to get a sneak peek over the next few weeks and help us deliver a smooth, bug-free release. The beta program is free to participate in, and we'll be continuously pushing updates each week.

How do I participate?
To participate, simply fill out this survey, and the IBM team will have your information! We'll use your contact info to get you access to the beta program and to keep in touch regarding testing.

What should I look out for while testing?
The first thing you'll notice is that the user interface has been revamped. You'll be immersed in a more uniform and consistent data integration experience.

Here are a few other features that we want to spotlight:
  • Connections Integration - creating connections at the project level and re-using them in a DataStage flow
  • DataStage Flow Canvas Design - a new, consistent UI for the canvas
  • Detachable links - detach and reconnect links
  • Drop a stage in between two links - add a stage in between two existing stages
  • Tear-sheet for columns - more easily manage column metadata
  • Auto-column propagation - define metadata once and automatically propagate it throughout the flow
  • Log Panel - search and filter information in the new interactive DataStage job log
  • Job Management and Scheduling - view and manage DataStage jobs

The beta product is not the fully-featured DataStage offering that you know and love. Not all of the connectors and stages will be available. Do not run any mission-critical jobs on the beta product. The general availability release is targeted in Q2 2021. But until then, even after the beta program formally ends, you will still be able to play with the new experiences and give us feedback so we can make the necessary adjustments before launch.

How do I give feedback?
With the email you provided, we will add you to our beta testing Slack community. In this Slack channel, you'll have the opportunity to chat about your experience with others in the beta program. The IBM DataStage engineering, product, and design team will also be active here.

At the end of the beta program, you'll also receive a survey to share your final thoughts.

Happy testing!
