The URLs of the Db2 for z/OS documentation PDFs now persist across editions. We took advantage of that to write samples scripts (a batch file for Windows and a shell script for Mac) for downloading the full set of the latest Db2 for z/OS documentation PDFs in a single action.

You can choose to download the full set of documentation PDFs for Db2 13 or Db2 13, or both releases in a single action.

The scripts contain no logic for checking the dates of your downloaded PDF manuals against the online edition. They download the full set every time.

Windows users might need to install curl before using the batch script. (Windows 10 build 17063 or higher now ships with curl built-in.)

Downloading the full set of Db2 for z/OS documentation PDFs takes just a few minutes.

How to use the scripts

1. Download Db2_pdf_download.zip.
2. Extract the contents to the directory that you want to contain the downloaded PDFs
3. Run the script. Use Db2z_pdfdownload.bat for Windows or Db2z_pdfdwonload.bat for Mac.
4. At the first prompt enter an optional directory name. If this directory does not exist, it is created. If you just press enter, a new folder named Db2-pdf-manuals is created in the directory that contains the script
5. At the second prompt, specify the version you want to download.  You can enter 12 or 13. If you do not specify a version, both are downloaded. When you press enter, the download begins!
