Db2 for the SAP Business Suite has a long history of collaboration with SAP and incorporates new features of Db2 with the goal of minimizing administration efforts and delivering optimal performance. The session will cover the latest Db2 features with the focus on tackling issues for very large databases. Examples of these features are optimized start up times, advanced log space management, new monitoring capabilities, and management of very large database tables using Db2 AMT or range partitioning. The session will also cover new features when using DB2_WORKLOAD=SAP and much more.

Speaker: Joern Klauke

Joern joined IBM in 2008. In the last fourteen years, he gained experiences as a software developer for SAP on Db2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows at the IBM Research and Development Lab in Boeblingen (Germany) developing the scripted interface and the NX842 compression for Db2 backups and log archives, and as a support analyst for Db2 Advanced Support. Currently, he manages the SAP on Db2 LUW development team. He holds a degree in Computer Science from the Martin-Luther-University of Halle (Saale) (Germany).
