IBM Db2 AI for z/OS sql optimizer customer experiences?

    I'm looking at Db2 AI for z/OS and in doing so trying to build out a proposed business case but unable to really determine the efficiency of the sql optimizer. I realize that it depends on the type and amount of workload that is being processed, but just wondering if there are other people out there that have Db2 ZAI installed and care to share some stats & experiences with it? 

    I was at Akiko's presentation from IDUG 2022 where they list out numbers from 19-40% CPU savings, looking for some non-marketing type numbers of what is generally seen overall.  We went conservative with a 5% overall reduction knowing some workloads will benefit more than others but hoping the benefit is much more than just 5%

    any info is greatly appreciated

    Hi Chris,   

    Thank you for your interest in Db2 AI for z/OS.    We have seen some examples from our customers for selective statements or packages,   but we do not have any concrete information that you are asking.  Even our internal measurements,  some queries show good benefit,  some do not,  and it is very hard to derive the estimate.    In upcoming webcast on September 26th, we are preparing to discuss customers' experience of Db2ZAI  -  its benefit as well as challenges.   You may find this discussion interesting.   IBM webcast: Accelerate Db2 performance and manage Db2 Health with Db2 AI for z/OS     Thank you,    Akiko
