    Dear all

I have been working with WTX for 20 years, since my first assignment with Mercator in 1999 on version 1.4.2. It's been a hugely interesting and varied journey, both with the clients I have worked with and the technologies I have used. I have worked in the U.S. (Boca and Ft. Lauderdale), throughout Europe and most recently back home in the U.K., on all versions up to 8.x.

Having seen other integration/mapping tools, I still strongly believe that WTX/ITX is far ahead in capability, ease of use and speed to market. It is a real shame that the product was not pushed more: it could have been an awesome tool for businesses.

Unfortunately it feels that time has run out for WTX/ITX in the U.K. - there is no longer enough (or any!) work here. I am now completing my final project of migrating a client away from WTX to BizTalk and IIB/ACE. The irony is that it was me who installed Mercator 1.4.2 at this client in 2001, and it has been running fine all these years... it's still on a Windows 2000 server!  :D

So now it is time for me to move on, reluctantly, so I will be leaving the WTX world to work in other areas.

If you need me or just want to stay in touch, please connect on LinkedIn. We never really know what the future holds, so perhaps this is not really Goodbye, but more of a "see you around".

Thank you all for keeping the WTX community alive all these years. Wishing you all the best.

    Tarun

We will miss you for sure.   In order for us to improve the product, can you share with us what we are missing so that we can make improvement.   In the last 3 years, we have spent most of our energy moving to a Browser UI which is container based.   We have also moved WTX/ITX to container based.  Most recently we have also certified one of the containers that it would install and deploy in OpenShift in less than 15 minutes.  It's based on RestAPI.  This means any RestAPI client such as ACE can invoke the map without having WTX installed there.   In order to maintain portability, all existing maps can be reused in containers.  We have also introduced many Cloud based adapters.

    Hey Tarun,

I really hope this is just a teaser for us to help you find a job with Mercator/DTX/WTX/ITX/ISTX (sounds like the times when, every quarter, we'd rename the product (remember "Mercator Inside Integration Server" ?))

It's been a great time from Nestlé in 2001 till now, it cannot end that way, so we'll do our best to flood the market with TX so that you stay around.

Tarun, Good luck in your future endeavors. In the USA I still see WTX projects. They've changed, of course, over the years but it seems people are still using WTX in conjunction with Sterling B2B, WMB, & ITXA.  Jim Divoky
