Predicting a customer's likelihood to leave and customize promotions

The Telco Churn accelerator will demonstrate a model that predicts a given customer's propensity to cancel their membership / subscription and recommends promotions and offers that may help retain the customer.

It is less expensive for telecom companies to retain existing customers than it is to attract new ones. So it is important to mitigate customer churn or attrition. While in US Markets, churn is relatively low at 1-2% monthly, lower customer satisfaction rates are still opportunities to provide customers with more personalized services. With the data already available, it's possible to provide real-time insights into personalized promotional offers most likely to lead to customer retention.

Sample Application

A sample application is provided which shows a working example of working through a Telco Churn use case interacting with the deployed models.

  • The Telco Churn accelerator will demonstrate a model that predicts a given customer's propensity to cancel their membership/subscription and provides recommended promotions that may help retain the customer.

  • User Persona: A Customer Service representative for BlueCo Communications using a desktop device, actively talking to a customer can determine if the customer is likely to cancel their subscription, and take accurate proactive measures.

  • The demonstration application flow will allow a customer service representative to submit a unique ID such as a phone number or email address. The application will then display the details of that customer (billing and profile information, current subscriptions, and service usage profile).

  • The customer details interface also includes a propensity-to-churn percentage value as calculated by the model.

  • The user can then see recommended promotional offers that might help retain the individual as a customer.

  • Finally, the customer service representative can Accept one of the promotional offers, and begin the process of updating the customer account.
