This accelerator focuses on assessing the risk of hospital readmissions within 30 days of discharge for diabetic patients. The predictive model analyses factors affecting readmission such as a patient's medical records, admission details, discharge details, lab test results, types of diagnoses, time in hospital, payer type, and other data to predict the probability of a diabetic patient being readmitted into hospital.

How does it work?
The glossary provides the information architecture that you need to understand why patients readmit to hospital. Your data scientists can use the sample notebooks, predictive models and dashboards to accelerate data preparation, machine learning modeling, and data reporting.
The models can be monitored for fairness and quality by using Watson OpenScale.

When you import the accelerator:
- The terms are added to your business glossary under the Hospital Readmission Prediction subcategory in the Industry Accelerators category.
- The data science assets are added to a new analytics project.

Importing the accelerator
To use this accelerator on Cloud Pak for Data v220.127.116.11, complete the following steps:
- Download the hospital-readmission-prediction-industry-accelerator.tar.gz file, which is available on the https://github.com/IBM/Industry-Accelerators repository.
- Extract the contents of the package.
- Determine how you want to import the accelerator:
- If your Cloud Pak for Data user account has Admin privileges, all components can be installed by following these steps:
- From a command prompt, run the following command to extract the contents of the package:
tar -xvf hospital-readmission-prediction-industry-accelerator.tar.gz
- Run the following command to navigate into the folder with the accelerator artefacts extracted from the tar.gz file.
- Run one of the following commands to import the accelerator content into Cloud Pak for Data.
Example 1: Run the import in interactive mode. When prompted, enter the required information.
Example 2: For a list of all available options, including how to pass arguments to the import script, enter the command:
Example 3: Run the import passing arguments. The following command will: import the accelerator into a project named "hospital-readmission-prediction-industry-accelerator" and import categories and business terms into Watson Knowledge Catalog.

Example 4: Run the import passing additional arguments to publish the business glossary terms and run notebook jobs.

- If you would like to pick which components you import, follow these steps:
- Import the ZIP file that defines the analytics project to Cloud Pak for Data. The file name should have the following format: accelerator-name-analytics-project.zip.

- Log into the Cloud Pak for Data web client as a user that has the Manage categories permission and the Author governance artifacts permission.
