Session:
Transforming Monolithic Legacy Enterprise Apps on Cloud: Where the Rubber Meets the Road
What does it take to migrate a mission critical application at a leading health care organization to the cloud? In 2018, based on a comprehensive review of our current capabilities and business needs, we began a cloud journey with an API centric and event-driven microservices architecture to address the demanding user requirements. The project currently runs on the IBM public cloud using the Liberty application containers and platform components including IBM Event Streams for IBM Cloud, IBM Cloud Databases for Redis, IBM Cloud Object Store and IBM Cloudant. In the next iteration, we will migrate to Red Hat OpenShift on IBM Cloud.
In this presentation, we will explain the architectural principles and share the learning and challenges in our journey to cloud.
What challenges do you face in migrating to the cloud?
