This 30-sec SRE article may be tricky : The distinction between functional and non-functional requirements. Functional requirements define what a product must do, while Non-functional requirements describe the general properties of a system. Historically, the focus was primarily on functions and features. However, with SRE, we emphasize that the best feature is irrelevant if it isn't reliable for the user. Thus, reliability emerges as the most critical feature.
