Kevin Gee is a Technical Solution Architect in the Modern Data Centers practice at Mainline Information Systems and an Adjunct Online Instructor at BYU-Pathway Worldwide. He has over 30 years of IT experience, most prominently with IBM and Red Hat solutions in the enterprise computing and infrastructure space.
Kevin is a problem solver whose skill range from the keyboard to the whiteboard. He has held various technical sales, consulting, and leadership roles at World Wide Technology, Capgemini Engineering, Forsythe Technology, and Affiliated Computer Services (among others). He has broad experience in server and storage infrastructure and performance, system engineering, high availability and disaster recovery, enterprise backup and recovery, and product development and go-to-market strategy.
In terms of product experience, Kevin has senior- to expert-level skills in IBM Power Systems, PowerVM/VIO, AIX, Linux, PowerHA for AIX, VM Recovery Manager, PowerVC, PowerSC, IBM Flash System Storage, IBM Storage Scale, IBM Storage Protect (TSM).
Having been around IT architecture, product management, strategy, engineering services and product sales, technical sales enablement, IT consulting, field support, data science, outsourcing/offshoring, software development and support, training and mentoring, operations, and academic research, his vast experience and skillsets make him uniquely qualified to solve hard problems across different disciplines.
He frequently writes white papers, presents at IBM technical conferences and contributes to others' presentations, and has published research into machine learning, graph processing, and natural language processing and reviews publications for the IEEE Journal of Cybernetics. He is an IBM Champion (since 2019) and has too many certifications/badges to list here.
Kevin holds a master's degree in Computer Science and completed coursework towards a PhD from The University of Texas at Arlington, and bachelor's degrees in Computer Science and Spanish from Brigham Young University.
