IBM Champion!? A Milestone in my IT Journey

One word.  WOW!

In the ever-evolving world of IT, staying ahead requires continuous learning and adaptation. Recently, I had the privilege of being nominated for IBM Champion status—something I had never really considered before.  I always thought, this was for "others".   I then received an email a few months back, that someone had nominated me; I was honestly surprised and flattered.  Just being nominated was an incredible honor in itself and thought to myself "maybe it is the beginning of something?", but now, having been officially awarded the title, I see it as a significant milestone in my professional journey.  A gift for all the hard work over the years.

This recognition represents more than just a credential—it reflects countless hours of learning, hands-on experience, and a deep commitment to sharing knowledge with the IT community online and locally. It’s a validation of the work I’ve done over the years, the challenges I’ve overcome, and the expertise I’ve built along the way.

Why this recognition matters

With technology advancing at an unprecedented pace, as IT professionals, we must constantly evolve to stay relevant, that is a fact.   To me, being named an IBM Champion is not just about what I’ve accomplished— but it’s about contributing to the broader tech community, helping others grow, helping my teams excel and continuing to push the boundaries of innovation.

What’s next for me?

Earning this award is just one step in my continuous journey.  Information Technology never stands still, and neither should we. My next goal is to further expand my expertise and stay at the forefront of industry advancements.  I want to keep learning!

To those considering pursuing this award, I highly encourage it. The process is exciting, the knowledge gained and the confidence it brings are well worth the effort!

If you’ve recently become an IBM Champion or are thinking about taking the plunge, I’d love to hear about your experiences! Let’s keep learning and growing together.

Cheers!

Stephan
