Hello friends,
We are happy to announce we have issued the first set of IBM Rising Champion Advocacy badges for 2023, and there will be more to come! Of course, the selection committees are still hard at work finalizing the 2024 class of IBM Champions; we’ll announce the 2024 IBM Champions and all badge earners for 2023 early in the new year. And then we'll continue to announce updated lists of Rising Champion Advocacy badge earners throughout the year.
Due to the overwhelming number of submissions, we have been slightly delayed in issuing this first batch of IBM Rising Champions Advocacy badges. But we are thrilled to let you know this is now well underway and additional badges will be issued on a rolling basis going forward.
Who are IBM Rising Champions Advocacy badge earners?
The IBM Rising Champions Advocacy badge program recognizes the advocacy contributions of IBM technology advocates – and offers three levels of badging:
- IBM Contributor: Applicants are members of the IBM TechXchange Community and have submitted two (2) eligible acts of advocacy completed within the last 12 months.
- IBM Advocate: Applicants are members of the IBM TechXchange Community and have submitted three (3) additional acts of advocacy (for a total of five) completed within the last 12 months.
- IBM Influencer: Applicants are members of the IBM TechXchange Community and have submitted three (3) additional acts of advocacy (for a total of eight or more) completed within the last 12 months.
You may apply for an IBM Rising Champions advocacy badge at any time, and applications are reviewed on a rolling basis throughout the year. The badge review committee meets monthly to assess the applications and issue badges. You can apply as soon as you have two activities – you’ll be eligible to earn the IBM Contributor badge – and as you contribute more advocacy, you can submit those activities to be eligible for additional badge levels.
Engage with other advocates
If you are interested in meeting IBM Champions, IBM Rising Champions Advocacy badge earners, and other advocates; in learning more about how to be an advocate for IBM; or finding advocacy activities you could complete, we encourage you to join the IBM Champions community. We’ll be launching content in this community intended to make advocacy easier: how, when, where, and why to do various types of advocacy activity, highlights of great examples of contributions, and spotlights of those contributing. Tell us your key questions around advocacy and we’ll start building answers into our editorial calendar.
