Ideally, I would like to keep the branding image in the welcome banner (brandIcon).

However, how would I go about removing the entire welcome banner if that is a more scalable option?

It looks like the assistant in the welcome banner is added through the caHome class. 

To remove it you'd have to write an extension that overrides the render function in caHome. It's not ideal and probably wouldn't survive a cognos update. You could try using a css file to hide it though. 

Is there anything inside the welcome banner you especially want to save? Why not just remove the entire thing?

Hi Paul,

Do you know what should be used to exclude the Assistant input box entirely on the Home page in Cognos 12? 

I've been able to exclude everything else (Quick Launch, Recents, etc.), but can not seem to find a way to exclude the Assistant within the Welcome Banner entirely.
