The integration between Cognos Analytics and Planning Analytics continues to be enhanced. Here’s what’s new in Cognos Analytics 11.0.7.
No need for any legacy user interfacesYou can now define data server connections to Planning Analytics via Cognos Analytics’ Manage area for a modernized alternative to the legacy Cognos Administration interface. After successfully establishing a connection to a Planning Analytics TM1 database server, you can browse its cubes and create data modules with them. No need to use either Cognos Administration, Framework Manager or anything else with a Cognos BI v10 look and feel!
Data modules with Planning Analytics cubes can used to author reports, dashboards and stories in all the same ways that packages with Planning Analytics cubes can.
Text measures in crosstabsIt is not unusual for organizations to build TM1 cubes that contain non-numeric measures with qualitative metrics like “Excellent”, “Under performing”, or “Non-compliant”. Business analysts often view these metrics in the cells of crosstabs in various Planning Analytics and TM1 user interfaces. As of Cognos Analytics 11.0.7, you can now create reports, dashboards and stories that have the same types of crosstabs with text value measures in the cells. In prior versions of Cognos software this was supported only with tabular data, now you can also do it with OLAP data.
