Cognos Controller

Hi all, hope you can help me with this, i recently joined a company that uses Controller and i have very little support for this system here.

in the Company Journals, I am trying to avoid all my movement accounts from being copied from year end to the journals of the new year period.

Is that possible ?

Hi Renan, yes, the movements are normally not copied over year end, the system should roll them to the opening balance account. Just do not tick the "without year ending rules", then it should work. You can find the manual at IBM: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/cognos-controller/11.0.1

Kerstin is absolutely right – movement accounts typically don't get copied over year-end in Controller.  The system should automatically roll those balances into the opening balance accounts for the new year.  The key is to make sure the "without year ending rules" box isn't ticked when you copy the journals.
