We have several data modules used for ad-hoc reporting by our users. Recently some of the columns in one of the tables were renamed. As a result after updating the metadata, the datamodule has an error on the query subject in question. How do we refresh the data module to reflect the renamed columns without impacting the existing reports and the associated query item identifiers (Identifier must remain the same)?
We followed the below steps to update but it's not working as expected and we need your support and guidance on this.
1. Clear the Metadata
2. Reload the Metadata
3. Open the data module and refresh the properties.
4. Click on the "View or Edit" property and change the expressions of the data items, still it throws the error. If we change the identifier then reports will break.
5. Open the data module in XML modify the "expression" and "idForExpression" properties and save the data module. Still it throws an error in the data module but the report works without any issues but don't want to leave validation issues in the data module.
