We are using the Simba driver, as recommended by Google.  Performance is a concern however.  Agree a native driver would be preferred and one that meets security requirements for more regulated environments.

With respect to the comment about performance of the driver Google BigQuery distributes.

Have you proven outside of Cognos Analytics where the JDBC driver Google distributes causes performance issues?
In turn, did you open issues with Google BigQuery support re those topics and your comment about security?

Hi Gill, We have not added the Simba BiqQuery driver to the On Demand offering because we don't have the legal right to redistribute their driver on someone else's behalf. If this is a need and you are willing to communicate this requirement to Google, please let me know and we could start to gather requirements. Thanks, Zach  - Cognos PM

**Point of clarification - for the Cognos Analytics Hosted offering, you can upload your own drivers, and for the On Demand offering, the list of drivers is provided.
