Hi Benjamin,
Thank you for posting your questions in the community. It is a great way to provide feedback, and also helps other users get their answers.
In order to ensure I answer your exact question, could you clarify what visualization are you using in this context?
I assume you are using a flavor of Key Drivers Analysis, Spiral or Decision Tree, which are all advanced predictive visualizations.
In the above cases, the system is using a sample of 10,000 detail rows, selected using a sampling algorithm, which ensures is representative for the data set. Using a sample ensures fast response time, loosing a bit of its accuracy, but not in a major way. There is no mechanism today to request the system to use full data set.
There is also the case of regular visualizations, such as bar chart, line chart, which also warns when there is too much data plotted, and truncation occurs! This is being done for readability and performance. For instance plotting 2000 bars in a chart has limited use. For such cases data groups should be used, to created buckets of data items, or apply filters to limit the data. Alternatively using higher level of aggregation (e.g.: make use of State vs. City) if data permits.
Hope this answers you questions.
Regards,
Valentin

Subject: Number of line with Exploration module
I have uploaded an Excel File in Cognos 11.1.3 to use the Exploration module.
But it says that due to the amount of data, the system has just take a sample to analyze data.
Did someone knows how many lines the system uses ?
And what means exactly this message ? Because i suppose that for the rendered visualizations, the system uses all the datas ?
My Excel file is about 100 000 lines. Is there a way to take all the lines or to modify the number of lines ?
Thanks in advance for your help.
