How to configure SSL in tm1web (HTTP to HTTPS)

  • 1.  How to configure SSL in tm1web (HTTP to HTTPS)

    Posted Thu August 31, 2023 07:38 AM

    Hello to all!

    We have a fresh tm1web installation using "http://185.196.20.127:9510/tm1web/". Working fine. Version:

    #Wed Feb 15 16:29:06 UTC 2023
    MINBLD=72026
    VersionNum=11.0.01083.72026

    Now I want to change to e secure connection using https

    Questions:

    1) is there any step-by-step instruction how to do it? I find different.

    2) Very confusing for me, do I have to use CAM for it? (we don't use it at the moment).

    3) What are the steps to do it?

    Any help very appreciated.

    Thanks a lot

    Andreas

    Hi Andreas,

    You can use this: Configure SSL for Planning Analytics TM1 Web/Spreadsheet Services with an existing keystore - IBM Documentation

    If you need to encrypt the WLP Password, follow this from IBM Support:

    "You can encrypt WLP password.

    To do so please move to <install_dir>\tm1_64\wlp\bin and from the command prompt (as Admin) execute the following:

    securityUtility encode --encoding=xor <yourencodedpassword>

    Please note that you have to set up JAVA_HOME variable and update bindPassoword.

    All the details are available in the technote below. Please follow the steps.

    Related documentation:

    https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/was-liberty/base?topic=security-limits-protection-through-password-encryption

    Documentation on how to use the password generation tool:

    https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/was-liberty/base?topic=applications-securityutility-command"

    Hope this will help you.

    Best Regards

    Mikael
