You used the word "Package" so I assume you use Framework Manager (FM). You might have access to the FM model that was used to publish this package.
You should have a model.xml file. You can make a copy of this file to another location, then use your preferred editor to search whatever you want.

I would like to know whether there is an easier way to find a field in a package.
Let's say that we have implemented Cognos payroll module. We created a custom field called "Employee hobbies" and there was no documentation of the location of this field. Is there away to find the package and the custom field name within the package?
In my case, there are so many fields that I need to find and there is no documentation. I am trying to see whether there is a way to find these. I am new to this and still learning. Apologies if this a stupid question.
