    hi

Does anyone have a good way to get more transparancy into the calculations that are made in the Control Table E700 for minority interests - Journalnr. 90?

If I try to drill on the balance I can't get any further than Automatic Journal - 90. Sometimes it is not obvious how the amount is calculated and it would be good to have some transparancy on the amounts that go into the calculation.

    Hi Olav

I am using the journals across report, per automatic journal type, for the equity specification. If the minorities are calculated for a subgroup, tic the "automatic journal types as BASE" to only see AJT for the chosen level. (Group and single company or subgroup to be chosen)

I send this report to Excel, and if E700 is defined in a good way, you should be able to re-calculate the minority per account and movement.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks - I hope the future web versions will allow for direct drilldown :)

Kerstin's tip about using the "Journals across report, per automatic journal type" with "automatic journal types as BASE" is a great workaround for now.  Exporting that data to Excel can definitely give you a more granular view of what's feeding into the E700 balance.

I agree with you though, it would be fantastic if future web versions of Controller allowed for more direct drilldown capabilities.  Maybe we can upvote this as a feature request on the IBM community page?

    Hi,

my view is more from the dataside than consolidation. My idea is, if you have an installation of Planning Analytics (PA) in your company, have a look at the Financial Analytics Publisher (FAP). This little tool can be installed with your CCR installation and is pushing the data into PA-Cubes in real-time. Really nice and smart for analyzing and creating complicated reports.

    Regards

Thanks - we are using PA quite a bit and it has many very useful features for controlling purpuses.

The function "automatic journal types as BASE" that Kerstin mentioned is not available in PA. Our vendor's feedback was that this function would have to be developed. We are also experiencing that the drilldown function in PA can give a different result than in Controller - probably depending on the view from where you look at the data - but the issue is that it is a bit hard to trust the drilldown when the numbers deviate from Controller drill down. Ideally they should be the same in both Controller and PA.

Absolutely! And while you're navigating these workarounds, remember to prioritize self-care too. Maybe consider exploring resources like PaigeBartholomew Therapy to manage any stress that arises from these technical challenges.

Drilling down on minority interest calculations in E700 can be a black box sometimes. Have you tried using the contribution version field in the control table definition? That can sometimes shed some light on the underlying transactions feeding into journal 90.
