    hi,

    my client need to make some calcul with a subset, not a element.

    when i look in documentation, i find that DBRW only reference with element.

    there are a way to do what my client want? for exemple : DBRW(TM1ServerName:CubeName, subset1, Element2, Element3, …, ElementN);

    thank a lot for help!

    documentation

    DBRW(TM1ServerName:CubeName, Element1, Element2, Element3, …, ElementN);

    TM1ServerName = Name of the TM1 Server

    CubeName = Name of the Cube

    Element1 to ElementN = An element in each dimension from the Cube. Each element must be ordered based on the dimension for the Cube.

    Hello Duong,

    In Perspectives yes.
    In PAfE no.
    Quite unfortunate.
    Especially when migrating from Perspectives to PAfE if users have built numerous reports based on this feature...

    We've been waiting for a fix to be implemented in PAX/PAfE for quite a while, in the mean time one solution is to automate the build of alternative hierarchies mimicking the subsets.

    Cheers,
    Laurent

    thanks Laurent for this reponse.
    this is a case that i have to day, we have to remake all perspective report wok in PAW.
    another reponse that i get from TM1forum is we can use User-defined calculations for an alternative.
    what you think?
    thanks

    Yes you can, but as it is a brand new function (came with 2.0.80 which as of today is the last version) we don't have any good experience yet on performance and useability.

    I've been toying a bit with it and it seems a bit complex to leave in users' hands as it was with user-defined subsets.

    It can definitely be automated via some engineering in the Excel sheets, but still a bit complicated compared to the good ole solution : build alternate hierarchies and use the parents, which also allows to make sure data is consistent over all users...

    Cheers,
    Laurent
