Can Data Modules use Data Source Connections as the data source?

    We create In IBM Cognos Administration, Configuration tab, Data Source Connection. Can we use this Connection when setting up Data Modules? Currently I only see a way to add specific server ip and database name as the data module source.

    Hi Brenda,

    You can definitely do that. The connection screen has a checkbox 'Enable Web-based modeling' that needs to be turned on.

    You then will see it show up in the 'Data Server connections'

    You can select the 'Assets' menu item to initiate the metadata loading. Please check the 'Load options' that show up on the next dialog.
