You get that error if the user ID which you are using is valid but the password is not valid. Verify that you have entered the correct password. Some addition things to verify would be whether your capsLock key was accidentally set on and, if you are pasting the password into the control, that trailing spaces were not included.

The generic ldap connector is the one with the most variables, and thus most options to go wrong.
Can you move the error window a bit lower, until under the bind user line? That way I can get a better impression of what is happening.

Assuming by all the variables, you are on *nix, connecting to AD.
Was there a specific reason for using the generic ldap connector over the AD ldap connector?
Both your user lookup and unique identifier do not really match defaults, as described here:

Easiest is when playing with this stuff, is to create a extra dummy connector and do all trial and error in there.
Once it works as expected, delete it and put all required variables in the original one.

Assuming by all the variables, you are on *nix, connecting to AD.
