Stephen:
We may have been on the same update on March 9 :-) in which the Q2 2021 rebrand was announced with the rationale that the Watson brand is a leader in the technology and enterprise space and that prospective customers (surveyed) had several positive and favorable associations with the Watson moniker.
The question was asked (I remember because I asked it) whether there would be a concerted communication plan for customers, business partners and the market as a whole to limit confusion, and also to ward off spurious claims about IBM abandoning TM1 and PA in favor of some other "Watson-based" technology.
Anyway ... I haven't seen the communication plan in action yet. Maybe I missed it ... or maybe it is coming?
In general I don't think it is a bad idea to piggy-back on the Watson brand, given how much IBM as a whole has invested in it BUT one does feel like an opportunity was squandered here.
Regards,
AG

Subject: Rebranding?
I was on an IBM marketing update call a couple of weeks ago when I heard this. I think they said the headline product name will change but the detailed marketing collateral will still refer to "IBM Planning Analytics - powered by TM1". If so it seems confusing for customers and prospects.

Hello Team,
Has the product been rebranded to "IBM Planning Analytics with Watson"?
Surprised there is no public announcement about this change.
