  • 1.  PAW comments - How to display them automatically on a sheet ?

    Posted Thu September 23, 2021 08:57 AM
    Hello Community,
Following my previous post on attributes, I would like now to allow assessment reviewer to see cell comments without having to right click on a cell, select the COMMENT option and have a modal popup window displaying the comments.
Any idea on how I could offer a greater user experience to my users ?
    Regards,

Bob - Have you considered using a string measure in your cube to capture comments? This would also allow the comments to be sandboxed.

    Hi Rob,
This could be for sure a solution but it's a shame that we cannot take advantage of the build in comments feature...

    Hello Joseph,
REST API used in conjunction with some Javascript could probably do the trick but, AFAIK, we cannot embed code in a PAW Book/Sheet :-(
Some colleagues of mine were suggesting to have a look at Apliqo UX from Cubewise which seems a very powerful and well structured solution but this would imply additional licences costs which is something we don't want.

    Hi,

These are loaded to the }CellAnnotations_ cubes.

Just do a cube view on these and use MDX to pull out what you need.

Note - String cells do not wrap.  This is an enhancement request that I can pull out should you want to support it!
Also - LEFT,RIGHT and MID are unsupported MDX functions.  So getting out what you need may be a struggle.

    Hi Robert

I confirm that is part of the functionalities that are covered by Apliqo UX. The objective of it is to enable an advanced user experience.
