    We are using PAW 2.0.59.
Cube views with formatting set up to show Percentages as %, Thousands as K and Millions as M.

When converting view to visualization it loses the formatting on value lables. Percentages are shown as decimals and other numbers show in their full length instead of the shorter version.

We have set the formatting on the dimension, within the cube and in PAW with no change in the graph.

Is there another setting we can use to display that % or shorter number? Ideally we want to avoid creating additional fields+calculations for display purposes only.

    Hi Izelle,

In 2.0.59 you should be able to click on the chart and bring up the properties.
Then under "Visualization Properties" go to the "Chart" grouping.
In here there is a dropdown box called "Value Label Format"; if you swap that from "Value" to "Percentage of Color" then it should show up as you are expecting for the chart you have shown.

I should add that the above will just change the labels attached to the columns themselves into percentages, the labels on the axis would still stay as decimals - however since you are showing the labels on the data points I would hide the axis values by unticking "Show Value Axis Labels" in the "Axis" section of the Chart Properties.

    Thanks,
    Declan

    Hi Declan,

Thank you for the quick reply.
I was able to change the "Value Label Format"  to the option "Percentage of Color". This did update the graph to show percentages, but it changed the percentages to different numbers. The percentages does not relate to adding up to 100 in this specific breakdown. Does it only work on selections if it adds up to 100%?

Here is an example, Region S changed from 11% to 15%.

    Hi,

Apologies, I see the issue now - I had quickly glanced before and assumed it was a % of the total.

You are correct that the only option seem to be: Percentage of Colour or Percentage of Total so both of them will only work if you want it to sum up to 100%.
At the moment I can't see another way of achieving the percentages from the charting options for column or bars - hopefully this can be introduced soon in a future release.

    Thanks,

    Declan

    Izelle & Declan:

Great catch! This sounds like a bug to me. Hopefully the IBM team is monitoring this :-)

    Hi All,

I'm looking into this issue.  I will provide an update once I have more details (and hopefully an ETA for a solution).

The charting engine in the new experience does not have the capability to provide formats based on the format of the data.  This does appear to be a gap between the old experience and the new experience.  The Planning Analytics team is working on getting this functionality prioritized.  I do not have an ETA for a solution at this point.  I can only confirm that some development work is required and that we will prioritize this work.

    Hi All,

is there any update on this issue. I am currently facing a simialair issue and it seems like it is still not possible to use database formats when activating the "Show label values" in charts.
If thats the case is there any work around for this?

    Regards,
    Lukas
