IBM Planning Analytics delivers continuous integration with Watson. IBM's David Marmer, VP of Product Management discusses how our "Extended Planning & Analytics" helps to streamline integrated business planning across every part of the organization, automate key processes and augment human intelligence.

Remember, to have your Planning Analytics with Watson cloud environments be upgraded, you need to schedule a time through our support organization. Good practice is to upgrade your non-production first -> test for a few weeks -> then schedule an upgrade for your production.

NOTE: Planning Analytics 2.0 through 2.0.7 inclusive have announced end of support effective Sept 30, 2021. You will see in the same link that the Planning Analytics 2.0.8 version end of support is effective Sept 30, 2022. The existing Standard support lifecycle policy will change to the Continuous Delivery support lifecycle policy.

NOTE: Our support portal is in the process of transforming your support experience, and moving from Service Request to a new Support Site. With this change, we've made updates to the main Support site. This document gives answers to some questions you might have about moving to IBM's new Support site.

Cloud Corner

Have you ever wondered how to manage backups with Planning Analytics Cloud? Planning Analytics Cloud backs up the shared folder space and application databases on a daily basis. Backups are taken locally and replicated to another database in a separate data center. We keep backups for the last 28 days (last 7 daily and last 4 weekly). Keep in mind that these backups are treated with Force Majeure situations. You can view our Service Description under section 5.5.
In addition to the above, a good practice is for all clients to perform their own application backup activities to minimize the risk of business interruption. View Errol Brandt's blog as he describes in more detail the importance and provides a couple of techniques.

I feel very sad that the on-prem corners does not get as much love as the cloud corner. Some (or a lot) of us are still using tm1 on premise and are very interested in the special things happening there.
