Cognos Analytics with Watson 11.2.3 - Has Arrived!

By SAMI EL CHEIKH posted Wed August 24, 2022 02:23 PM

In the 11.2.x stream, Cognos Analytics with Watson has continued to push the envelope enabling Analytics Everywhere! Enhancing how and where our users can navigate and extract value from their data. These enhancements ranged from a major user experience overhaul and additional visualizations to sorting the metadata tree in Data Modules and expanded support for JSON Web tokens. Cognos Analytics with Watson 11.2.3 builds on the previous releases to provide enhanced functionality and workflows to our users across Modeling, Reports, Dashboards, Administration and more!

Some of these enhancements include:

  • Cascading filters in dashboards – allowing selections of one filter to limit the scope of others within a cascading set.
  • Multi-variate forecasting – Using additional metadata to provide context to a forecast
  • Microsoft Teams integration for sharing and collaboration
  • Improved AI Assistant comprehension
  • New user experience to edit asset properties
  • Additional governance for custom SQL in reports

If you have any questions or comments on the new release please reach out to me on the Community.

Is there an out of the box workflow feature available?

Thanks

Yes, @Sayeed Mahmood , it was the Linux installer .bin file that wasn't showing up for me.  After removing all filters I found it, though.

I assume Admins who install Cognos on Linux but use MS versions of Jupyter notebooks face similar inconveniences each time, having to back-out and get the installer for another OS.  Oh well :)

Thanks for contributing.

Hi @Shawn Lamson,
The images should be available on PPA; here is more info on the v11.2.3 parts:

Thanks @SAMI EL CHEIKH .  I was able to find it in Passport Advantage.  It seems that if you filter on MS as the OS, you still see Linux archives/installers, but not all of them.  If I don't do any filtering then I can see the Linux x86 Installer bin file as well.

Thanks again for following up!

Regards,

Shawn

Hey @Shawn Lamson thanks for posting!

Here are the links for you:

General download doc for 11.2.3:

For Jupyter notebooks on Linux you should be able to find it in Passport advantage: It should read: "IBM Cognos Analytics for Jupyter Notebook 11.2.3 Linux x86-64 Multilingual  M072HML "

Hello @SAMI EL CHEIKH Another question, if we want to install the MS version of Jupyter notebook we typically have to locate and install the general Linux installer, correct?  In this release I am not seeing a separate installer for Linux x86 based systems - has something changed and if so is the change also applicable for the Linux version of Jupyter notebooks?

Thanks again,

Shawn
