Ventana Research classifies IBM Planning Analytics with Watson as an Exemplary Vendor, and a Value Index Leader in the Capability, Usability and TCO/ROI categories in their 2022 Value Index for Business Planning.  Review the assessment here.

Workspace Classic to be sunset July 2022.  The IBM Planning Analytics team intends to remove the capability to remain on the classic experience and preview the new experience during the July 2022 Planning Analytics Workspace update.  You can read about that in this blog post and also in this technote.

Planning Analytics for Excel 32-bit Direction. To align with IBM Planning Analytics’ overall strategy in transitioning away from 32-bit clients as seen with TM1 clients such as TM1 Architect and TM1 Perspectives, Planning Analytics for Excel is preparing to support Windows 11 this year exclusively for the 64-bit Planning Analytics for Excel client.  Read about this transition here.

IBM Planning Analytics Releases

IBM Planning Analytics Workspace release 76 is now available on cloud. Take a look at new features here.  Release 76 is also available on Fix Central for on premises.



IBM Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel Release 76 for cloud customers now available for download from Planning Analytics Administration.  Release 76 is also available for on premises customers on Fix Central.

Events

The Cloud/containerized version of TM1 server is coming soon with the next release of Planning Analytics for Cloud Pak for Data. Stuart King, Senior Product Manager for Planning Analytics with Watson, will present an interactive session where he will discuss the benefits of a containerized architecture and how companies can prepare to take advantage of it. Some of the key topics to be covered are:

• Benefits of containerization
• Modernize your TM1 model for the hybrid cloud world
• Improve uptime of TM1 databases with OpenShift

From Cubewise: Merged cells, repeat labels and label top cell... what are these Grouping Options in IBM Planning Analytics for Excel? Control how repeated elements on the row set appear in an exploration or list.
