Welcome to first 2022 edition of the January Planning Analytics with Watson newsletter.

Security Bulletin: IBM Planning Analytics 2.0, only the Workspace component is affected by the security vulnerability: Apache log4j Vulnerability (CVE-2021-45046 & CVE-2021-45105). This issue is categorized as Critical Severity. Apache Log4j is used by IBM Planning Analytics as part of its logging infrastructure. This bulletin addresses the exposure to the Apache Log4j (CVE-2021-45046 & CVE-2021-45105) vulnerability. IBM Planning Analytics Workspace has upgraded Apache Log4j to v2.17. Please note that this update also addresses CVE-2021-44228. Stay abreast of the latest remediation and fixes here.  You can also raise a support ticket here if you need assistance. 

Security Bulletin: IBM Cognos Controller 10.4.2 IF16: Apache Log4j vulnerability (CVE-2021-45046). Clients using all versions of 10.4.2 should download the most recent security update here.

The IBM Planning Analytics team intends to remove the capability to remain on the classic experience and preview the new experience during the July 2022 Planning Analytics Workspace update.  You can read about that in this blog post and also in this technote.

IBM Planning Analytics Local, Advanced, Express 2.0.9.11 is now available for download on Fix Central. Details here.

IBM Planning Analytics Cartridge for IBM Cloud Pak for Data 4.0.4 is available from the IBM Registry. See what is new.

IBM Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel Release 70 for cloud customers now available for download from Planning Analytics Administration (PAA). Details here.

IBM Planning Analytics Local v2.0: Planning Analytics Workspace Release 72 is now available on Fix Central. Details here.
